Deer Lake Brook

So The weather has settled in mostly single digit temperatures now and there is more rain than sun on any given day. Welcome to winter in a rain forest region.

Our love affair with the Central Valley's Still Creek continues. A once dead creek for over 75 years has returned as a route for spawning Chum salmon. And thanks to google imagery and the magic of the interwebs there is a map of its meandering way both above and below ground. It runs into Deer Lake through the Deer Lake brook and from there into Burnaby Lake and from there into the Brunette river ending up in the Fraser river. A long way for the salmon to go but they are again and it's something to celebrate.

Mr Crow just moseying on by with not a care for us in the world.
